Russian Federal State Statistics Service claimed one tenth of Russian companies got involved in inno
Moscow. 10.8 percent of Russian companies dealing with the primary and processing sectors, as well as power, gas, and water production and distribution, got involved in innovative activities in 2012, the Rosstat said in a statement today. More than half of all companies (52.9 percent) having technological innovations developed them on their own, while roughly a third of them cooperated with other companies, and 15.5 percent had their innovations developed entirely by other companies. Spending on technological innovation totaled RUB 207.5bn (approx. USD 7.46bn) in 2007, down 3 percent in comparable prices from the previous year.
To be more specific, technological innovations were introduced in 9.4 percent of companies, marketing innovations in 2.5 percent, and organizational innovations in 3.5 percent of companies. On the whole, a total of 2,485 companies implemented technological innovations in 2007, compared to 2,490 in 2010. However, a mere 182 organizations, or 7.3 percent, were busy acquiring patent rights and licenses last year.
